About the Annual Economic Summit | Business

TRAVERSE CITY – Every fall, Traverse Connect hosts an annual business summit to highlight trends, discuss business topics, and gather wisdom from business experts for a glimpse into the future of the emerging business climate.
Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Care Network of Michigan is the presenting sponsor of the annual business summit.
This year, it features an expanded day of business discussions, workshops, and networking at its annual business summit presented by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. This year’s summit will take place on November 2nd at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.

- 1. Quick Connect, 9-11am, is new this year and includes conscious B2B networking to help attendees make new connections with business and community leaders. Tickets: $ 35 – Exclusively for Traverse Connect Investors / Members.
- 2. Economic Outlook Luncheon & Business Showcase offers a presentation on national and state-wide economic insights and a panel discussion. The Fifth Third Bank is sponsoring the Economic Outlook Luncheon, 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tickets: $ 40 for Traverse Connect Investors / Members. $ 65 for non-investors / members.
The keynote speaker will be Jeff Korzenik, Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist of the Fifth Third Management Group.
A panel of industry experts from the manufacturing, technology and creative industries will focus on the Grand Traverse region. Panelists are: Jamie Gallagher, President and CEO of Faber-Castell USA; Katie Horvath, Aunalytics’ chief marketing officer; and Stacie Kwaiser, COO of Rehmann.
A business showcase will be set up in the exhibition hall that leads to lunch from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Open exclusively to lunch attendees, the Business Showcase will highlight 20 companies and replace Traverse Connect’s traditional business expo.
- 3. Recruiting Talent to Michigan’s Creative Coast Workshop, 2-4pm, aims to recognize that talent recruiting and retention has become a top priority in all industries in the Grand Traverse area.
The panelists present tips for attracting the best qualified candidates and new strategies for attracting and retaining top talent. Panelists are: Barbara Jordan, RJG, Inc .; John McGee, McGee Restaurants; Brienne Stiteler, Interlochen Art Center; and Rachel Wassermann, Hagerty.
