VA Ann Arbor is home to pop-up pantries for veterans

ANN ARBOR, me. – Starting Thursday, veterans in need will be able to contact the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System for food aid.

The healthy system hosts pop-up pantries, which come first and are served first, every first and third Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Food will be available for the first 50 veterans, regardless of whether they are supplied by the VA, the health system said on social media.

Participants must demonstrate veteran status, which can be in the form of a DD form 214, an appointment calendar or a VA card.

Supplies provided by Food Gatherers can be collected from the main entrance of the LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center at 2215 Fuller Rd. VA Ann Arbor employees will be putting groceries in cars, the VA said.

The events are run through a partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs and Feeding America.
