UPDATE: Car is in a hit-and-run that killed Lansing teenagers
LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) – A car turned up while investigating an accident that killed 13-year-old Dejaven Hopkins.
The police are still trying to find out who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Details of the actual make and model of the vehicle were not released by the police, but the initial investigation revealed that it was a Chevrolet S-10 or GMC Sonoma, which was a light color and the date of manufacture was between 1998 and 2004 .
In addition, the passenger side near the headlight is damaged.
Police were called to the crime scene on November 14 at 1:26 am near the junction of Jolly and Kensington in the southwest of the city.
According to the police, Dejaven died on the scene.
According to Hopkins’ family, he left the house at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night to go to the store to buy candy but never returned.
Police say surveillance shows Hopkins was walking along the side of the road when the car of interest driving east on Jolly hits the teenage boy from behind before it drives off.
