Traverse City’s Salvation Army Opens Holiday Program Registration
The Salvation Army of Traverse City is kicking off their holiday programs.
The programs include food baskets for thanksgiving and christmas. The Salvation Army also distributes Christmas gifts for children from the toy shop, and has a teen angel program where members of the community can sponsor a local teen.
Registration is now open online for families in need of help this holiday season. An in-person registration event will be held Nov. 15 at the Salvation Army Community Center.
“This time is a very crucial time for many families when other families are celebrating and to almost feel that sense of not being able to or embarrassment. And our hope is that we can just mitigate that and just show someone real tangible love,” says Lt. Matthew Winters.
The Salvation Army of Traverse City anticipates 500 families to register this holiday season.
