Traverse City Named Top 10 Small-Town Beer Scene Nationally –

A group of beer experts from across the country was assembled by 10Best.Com and sponsored by USA Today. The experts nominated 20 small towns known for their local breweries. From this list, USA Today readers picked their top picks. The survey arouses great interest with an average of 5 million visitors per month.

Area brewers enjoyed the recognition. “It’s exciting that we’re one of the top ten cities,” said Russell Springsteen of Right Brain Brewery. “We deserve it. We have several breweries that make great beer.” At the same time, Springsteen says he sees voting as a challenge and if there is a continuation of the competition he wants to finish first. “We have the breweries to do to do that.”

The top spot in the vote went to Avondale Esates, Georgia. Avondale Estates, a suburb of Atlanta, has a population of just over 3,000. The full results can be found at
