Set your DVRs (if people still do that) for this Friday night because there’s one episode of Dateline you don’t want to miss.

On February 1, 2006, Kansas inmate John Maynard escaped the Lansing Correctional Facility in a van driven by 48-year-old prison volunteer Toby Murr. The story was about more than just one prisoner at large, it was about the danger of trust.

Now for the first time since the story broke, Murr speaks about her role on prison hiatus in Datelines Breakout in her first network interview.

Hear all about the story that caught national attention at 10 p.m. / 9 p.m. CT on NBC News or watch it on the NBC News app.
