Three girl golfers from the Ann Arbor area will receive state recognition in 2021

It has been a strong season for several Ann Arbor area golfers this fall, and three players recently received national awards.

The Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association announced their all-state teams for all four divisions, and Mia Melendez of Ann Arbor Greenhills, Adie Maki of Ann Arbor Skyline, and Anna Reisner of Chelsea all received state recognition for the 2021 season.

Melendez has been named to the Super Team, which lists the best players in the state regardless of division.

The freshman phenomenon went undefeated that year, including winning the regional title and Division 4 state championship in their first season at Greenhills.

A signing from Chicago Loyola, Maki received D1 All-State Honors her final season at the Eagles. After a second place as a junior in 2020, Maki finished this performance with fourth place overall in the D1 state finals.

Reisner was Chelsea’s top performer that fall as she did well in her junior season and received Honorable Mention in D2. Reisner finished 16th overall and was the second best individual qualifier at the D2 state finals.
