The underground market in downtown East Lansing has been canceled due to COVID-19 cases

EAST LANSING, Michigan (WILX) – With the continued high rate of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the area, East Lansing City officials made the difficult decision to cancel the last two underground markets in downtown East Lansing. They should take place on Sunday April 25th and Sunday May 9th as part of the “time of day”. Night time. At any time. Place project.

Community members can continue to enjoy other elements of the Place Project in downtown East Lansing, including the ELHS & MMS Community Art Exhibit.

You can park at roadside pick-up areas or visit the recently installed outdoor seating / dining areas for downtown guests located in the following locations:

– Pedestrian mall on the 500 block on Grand River Avenue

– North side of Division Street Garage along Albert Avenue

– Plaza on the east side of the East Lansing Marriott

– Ann Street Plaza (corner of Albert and MAC Avenues)

– Pedestrian link under Newman Lofts (next to Barrio Tacos)

Community members can also take out local businesses and take advantage of these outdoor restaurants. Downtown visitors are advised to comply with all COVID-19 safety measures when visiting companies in person.

Employees plan to host the East Lansing Farmers Market (ELFM) in Valley Court Park this summer and fall in 2021. Further details on the ELFM will be announced shortly.
