The Taco & Tequila Festival 2021 will take place this summer at Lansing Lugnuts Stadium

LANSING, MI – The Taco and Tequila Festival returns to Michigan.

Outlier Events, organizers of the Donut and Beer Festival and Mac and Cheese Festival, announced this week that the Taco and Tequila Festival will take place on Saturday, July 24th in Jackson Field, home of the Lansing Lugnuts.

“We’re excited to have everyone together to celebrate safely and have the opportunity to showcase some tacos from various local vendors,” said Nick Stoglin, special events director at Kalamazoo Growlers and Outlier Events. “I can’t think of a better way to bring festivals back to Michigan after a long year without friends and family.”

The 2020 festival was moved from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids and postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic before it took place in October. According to Stoglin, about 1,800 people safely took place in waves of about 300 people in October.

Stoglin said the 2021 event will be one of the first food and drink festivals to return after so many events have been postponed or canceled entirely due to the pandemic.

More than 25 different tequila brands, cocktails and beers will be sampled on site at the 2021 festival. In addition to some creative twists, local vendors also serve authentic tacos.

Attendees can also expect entertainment, live music, activities, and games at a socially distant event where entry is split into waves, reducing waiting times and reducing the crowd of festival goers.

The first waves of entry are only for VIP ticket holders and include more exclusive and rare tequilas to try. A second round of waves is aimed at holders of a general admission ticket. There is also a designated driver ticket for those who still want to take part with friends but would rather just enjoy the tacos.

Tickets for the Taco & Tequila Festival 2020 in Grand Rapids can be extended until 2021. The organizers say these ticket holders should get an email soon about how to request unused tickets.

At check-in, all participants will receive food and drink samples with their tickets as well as a souvenir mug.

According to a press release, the event traditionally sells out quickly. Those interested in attending the festival are therefore encouraged to register for the priority list now in order to gain initial access to tickets before they go on sale to the public on May 19th.
