T-Cellular declares 5G capability expansions forward of the Tremendous Bowl in Tampa, FL

On Tuesday, T-Mobile’s technology president at T-Mobile announced via Twitter that the wireless operator had upgraded its 5G capacity in Tampa, Florida, in anticipation of hosting Super Bowl 55 in the city this year. The big sporting event takes place this Sunday, February 7th, at Raymond James Stadium, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will battle the Kansas City Chiefs.

Although the ongoing pandemic allows limited travel between borders, there will be 22,000 visitors (at a venue that typically seats more than 65,000 spectators, according to CNBC, tourism is expected in the city as people flock to the coastal city of Florida .

T-Mobile is expanding 5G capacity to key areas in Tampa, including the downtown Water Street development, Julian B. Lnae Park and the Riberwalk in Tampa. The new spectrum will also light up in Hyde Park, Ybor City, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Dade City. T-Mobile’s mid-band rollout includes the spectrum covered by Sprint on the 2.5 GHz frequency.

T-Mobile deployed its extensive 5G connectivity at Raymond James Stadium. Low and medium band spectrum together with mmWave 5G. The latter is only supported by a small number of T-Mobile branded phones, the last of which appears to be the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.

As in the following years, T-Mobile will advertise during the Super Bowl. This year, a 30-second commercial will cost $ 5.5 million, according to Bloomberg.
