TRAVERSE CITY – Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s officers are investigating a two-vehicle accident on US Highway 31 South near Franke Road at 12:20 p.m. Monday, in which several motorists were injured.
Early traffic wreck investigations revealed that a Dodge Charger driven north by a 20-year-old Traverse City man hit a Buick enclave driven by a 77-year-old Empire man who turned left into a business driveway.
Rescue workers took the elderly man and his 78-year-old passenger with serious injuries to Munson Medical Center. The 20-year-old man from Traverse City was rushed to hospital for treatment for minor injuries, authorities said.
The crash is still being investigated, sheriff officials said.
