See where Livingston County hockey teams land in first state rankings

As usual, Livingston County is well-represented in the first high school hockey rankings of the 2022-23 season.

Hartland, Brighton and Howell are ranked in the top eight in Division 1 by the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches’ Association. Hartland is ranked No. 2, Brighton No. 4 and Howell No. 8. Six of the top 10 teams are from the Kensington Lakes Activities Association.

In addition, Hartland is ranked No. 2 in the Super 10 behind Detroit Catholic Central. The Super 10 is a list of the top 10 teams regardless of division.

The season will begin with a marquee matchup, with Hartland and Catholic Central clashing at 7:30 pm Wednesday at USA Hockey Arena.
