Perrigo breaks ground on new Grand Rapids headquarters
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Perrigo held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new North American corporate headquarters along the Medical Mile in downtown Grand Rapids on Wednesday.
The generic pharmaceutical and self-care company rents the top three floors of a new building under construction adjacent to Michigan State University’s Grand Rapids Research Center on the corner of Michigan Street NW and Monroe Avenue NW.
The 125,000-square-foot building is being built by Health Innovation Partners, a Rockford Construction joint venture of Grand Rapids, MB Real Estate, Walsh Construction and Walsh Investors. The structure, which is expected to be completed next year, is expected to accommodate 170 Perrigo employees.
“Our new location in North American corporate headquarters allows us to build on the legacy we have built in West Michigan as we work with our new neighbors along this world-famous corridor,” said Murray Kessler, President and CEO of Perrigo, in one Explanation.
“We believe this hub will act as a catalyst for further advances in self-sufficiency and we look forward to being part of the impactful work that will take place at MSU’s Innovation Park next month.”
Perrigo says it has more than 4,000 employees in West Michigan and over 11,000 worldwide.
Perrigo’s new headquarters are adjacent to the Doug Meijer Medical Innovation Building, which is on the northeast corner of Michigan Street and Monroe Avenue.
