Global Art Project for Peace debuts at Detroit gallery – Macomb Daily

A new exhibition celebrating the 15th Biennial Exchange of the Global Art Project for Peace — founded in 1994 to create a global community of peace through art — will debut Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Swords into Plowshares Peace Center & Gallery, 33 East Adams Ave., Detroit.

The exhibit will include prints of individual artworks expressing messages of peace by members of Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors and artists contributing to Swords into Plowshares, displayed with original artworks received in exchange from artists in Toronto, Canada and Charter Towers, Australia.

An opening reception is planned from 1 to 4 pm on Saturday. The exhibit will remain on view through Sept. 10. More information at swordsintoplowsharesdetroit.org or call 313-963-7575.
