TRAVERSE CITY – The Veterans Buffet Dinner will be served on November 7th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Elks Lodge. Veterans and active military personnel are welcome to enjoy this meal on site or by the roadside. Non-veterans can enter for $ 15.

KALKASKA – The annual Marine Corps Ball is canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Marine Corps breakfast will also be canceled this year.

Book club meeting set

ALDEN – Members of the Books’ n Brie Book Club will meet on November 11th at 3:30 pm at the Helena Community Center. Discuss “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Richardson while you enjoy snacks and drinks.

Club Supports Food Bank PETOSKEY – Campus Club of Bay View recently completed the Manna Food Project 2021 by donating $ 12,000 to the program. The money was raised in memory of Robert Banwell, who led the Manna project for the club for several years. The food project aims to feed people in Antrim, Charlevoix and Emmet counties.

Lawyers donate to medical staff

TRAVERSE CITY – Smith and Johnson Attorneys have partnered with litigation attorney affiliate Injury Board to donate area restaurant gift cards to local health care workers to thank them for their work during the pandemic.

Smith and Johnson’s attorneys served on numerous local boards, from the Father Fred Foundation to the Chamber of Commerce.

Princess Tea Party is planned

ELK RAPIDS – The Miss Elk Rapids Scholarship Program presents the Princess Tea Party from November 13th at 1:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Church Hall. Enjoy snacks, desserts, tea and lemonade.
