DETROIT (NewsNation Now) – Fans waited in long lines Wednesday to sample Mom’s Spaghetti, Eminem’s new downtown Detroit restaurant. Ten happy customers were personally served pasta by the rapper.
The restaurant is named after a poetry from the Oscar-winning song “Lose Yourself”, which was featured in the film “8 Mile”: “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There is vomit on his sweater, mom Spaghetti.”

Mom’s Spaghetti is a partnership between Shady Records and the restaurant group Union Joints.
“The opportunity to build a permanent location based on an incredible meta-reference was taken very seriously by everyone at Union Joints as a Metro Detroit restaurant group,” said Curt Catallo, co-owner of Union Joints, in a press release. “We pride ourselves on creating a scratch sauce that tastes like it comes straight out of the jar, and burning the noodles in the wok gives it the rest of the pasta.”
The menu is completely spaghetti. There’s plain spaghetti for $ 9, spaghetti with meatballs for $ 12, or vegan balls for $ 14, and spaghetti sandwiches for $ 11.
