Detroit police seek suspected gunman in fatal shooting on city’s west side

DETROIT – Police are seeking public assistance in identifying and locating a man in connection with a fatal shootout on the west side of Detroit.

According to the authorities, the suspected shooter had a conversation with the victim at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Dexter Avenue and Collingwood Street. Police said the suspect walked away, came back with a pistol and fired a single shot before escaping the area.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police described the alleged shooter as about 1.70 meters tall. He was wearing a jacket, hoodie, black pants and black shoes. According to the police, he was wearing a black and brown Adidas backpack.
