COVID-19 vaccination clinics for students and parents attending schools in Washtenaw County

ANN ARBOR, MI – Vaccination clinics for students, their parents, and community members are scheduled to take place in schools across Washtenaw County.

The Washtenaw County Health Department is hosting a Pfizer Vaccination Clinic for students 16 years and their families at Huron High School in the Huron High School cafeteria on Thursday, April 29.

Students aged 16-17 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian while other family members can sign up at the same time to get vaccinated. Individuals who sign up for the clinic on Thursday must be available to receive their second shot on Thursday, May 20th.

The Health Department is hosting a Pfizer Vaccination Clinic for people aged 16 and over at Whitmore Lake High School on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Livingston County residents can also attend this clinic.

Individuals 16 or 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and those attending this clinic must bring official identification with their name, date of birth, and address.

An additional vaccination clinic is planned for the second dose on May 22nd.

A clinic will also be set up for Ypsilanti’s Lincoln Consolidated Schools. A specific date will be announced in the coming days, officials said.

Community members can schedule appointments on the Department of Health’s website or call 734-544-6700 to request an appointment.

“Vaccines are much easier to get now,” said Susan Ringler-Cerniglia, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health. “If people have waited patiently, now is the time.”

The health department continues to offer vaccination clinics in Ypsilanti in the Convocation Center at Eastern Michigan University and the Pierce Lake Elementary School in Chelsea, and will leave other pop-up clinics in the community, Ringler-Cerniglia said.

On Tuesday, April 27, the health department opened its Chelsea clinic to those without an appointment. The clinic remains authorized for people who enter as long as the appointments are not filled in advance, the authorities say.

Residents can schedule an appointment here at the Department of Health Clinic in the Eastern Michigan Convocation Center.
