BREAKING: East Lansing Police are investigating the shooting at the apartment complex

EAST LANSING, Michigan (WLNS) – The East Lansing Police Department is investigating a shootout that occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday morning.

It happened in an apartment complex on the 6000 block of Abbot Road in East Lansing.

East Lansing Police Captain Chad Connelly told 6 News that there are currently multiple victims, but there are no further details on the severity of their injuries or whether there is a suspect – in custody or not – while the investigation is ongoing.

Officials say this act of violence does not appear to be accidental and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The East Lansing Police Department and its partners are working to identify the individuals involved and to ask that anyone with information on the matter tell Lt. Call Scot Sexton at 517-319-6916.

The police were still there on Sunday, May 16, just after 3 a.m. and gave 6 messages that they would be there for a few hours.
