Arthur “Art” Walton, 92, of Traverse City died on October 5, 2021 at Munson Medical Center with his family by his side.
Art was born on September 29, 1929 in Buckley to the late William and Florence (swingers) Walton. On September 1, 1950, he married Edwardine (Mox) in Kingsley.
After graduating from Buckley High School, he lived in Traverse City all his life, running a heavy machinery company. In his spare time he loved to play golf and had at least four holes in one. Art was a proud member of the Traverse City Golf and Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf and hanging out with his many friends. He spent years square dancing with Edwardine. He was affectionately known for wearing Edwardine’s newest handcrafted square dance shirt, which always matched her dress. A real classic couple that you will miss forever.
The art is survived by his daughter Christine Walton; Son, Kent (Beth) Walton; Grandsons, Heather Hooper (Scott) Jaworski, Sarah (Shaun) Rasmussen McKolay, Kate (Nickolai) Valdmanis, Tom (Kristin Toedebusch) Rasmussen, Adam (Jennifer Smith) Walton, Nicholas Walton, Maeda (Dustin) Shroeder; Great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Amelia, Preston, Oliver, Elijah, Walter, Eloise, Penelope and Arthur Jaworski, Louisa and Gus Valdmanis, Olivia and Liam Rasmussen, Tess and Cash McKolay, Chloe and Colton Walton and Chelsea Mitchell; and many other family members and close friends.
The family will celebrate his life at a later date. The burial takes place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley. Commemorative donations in his honor can be made to the Cowell Family Cancer Center.
