Ann Arbor cocktail competition serves up drinks inspired by downtown murals

ANN ARBOR, MI — Whether you’re looking to put the art in martini or fun in fundraising, the Ann Arbor Art Center’s cocktail competition is the place to be.

The Ann Arbor Art Center, also known as A2AC, will be hosting its annual cocktail competition in-person on Feb. 25, with an at-home version taking place through March 4. Artini has previously raised more than $250,000 for the art center.

The event challenged each business to create a cocktail based on a mural in downtown Ann Arbor. Participating businesses include the Alley Bar, Aventura, Bab’s Underground, The Circ Bar, Nightcap and Of Rice & Men.

The in-person event will take place from 5:30 to 10 pm on Friday, Feb. 25. Each ticket comes with six drink tickets to sample cocktails from the participating venues. They also come with a curated tasting guide, access to the event page and a chance to vote for the best cocktail. Tickets are available for $80 on A2AC’s website.

Artini’s at-home version runs from Feb. 25 through March 4. Tickets are $150 and come with six cans of different cocktails, with two pours per can, as well as garnishes, a tasting guide, access to the event page and a vote for the best cocktail.

Tickets can be purchased until Sunday, Feb. 20. Winners will be announced on March 5.
