Kennedy Ellis, senior at Alpena High School, is receiving the Bruce Keillor Memorial Scholarship from the Traverse City Junior Golf Association (TCJGA) this year as part of the annual TCJGA Scholarship Program.
Ellis has been a member of the club for several years and has participated in tournaments and as a volunteer for younger children as part of teaching at the Bay Meadows Family Golf Course in Traverse City.
Ellis plans to attend Olivet College.
The Traverse City Junior Golf Association (TCJGA) college scholarship program began in 1994 and has provided over $ 347,000 in college tuition funds over the past 27 years to TCJGA membership. This program is funded by an annual TCJGA tournament, several commemorative grants, and TCJGA sponsors and donors.
TCJGA members can apply for college scholarships if they are a high school graduate or current college student and have actively participated in the TCJGA. Scholarship holders will be honored at the TCJGA Scholarship, Sponsorship and Membership Tournament in August.
