15-year-old boy killed in shooting in Lansing
LANSING – A 15-year-old boy died on Saturday after a shooting in Lansing.
The boy died of gunshot wounds sustained in an accidental shooting on the 600 block on North Fairview Avenue, the Lansing Police Department said. Another 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting.
The police did not identify any of the boys.
LPD said in a statement at 10:30 p.m. Saturday that they are investigating the incident as a murder. At 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, they released a statement describing the incident as an accidental shooting.
The investigation is still ongoing.
The police say there is no danger to the public.
