Weekend weather Up North is looking pretty fantastic
In the Grand Traverse region and the rest of Northern Michigan, weather conditions will improve over the next few days as we finally embark on a pleasant spring-like weekend. Here is a glimpse of sunshine, warming temperatures and a relatively bearable wind pattern.
The early afternoon surface maps don’t show any Michigan weathermakers this weekend, including Northern Lower Michigan and even the Upper Peninsula.
The forecast maps below also have the temperature at 2pm each afternoon.
Here are the highest temperatures expected each afternoon.
When you arrive in Leelanau County and on the coast to Mackinac Straits, temperatures get cooler in the 1940s. Everywhere inland the temperatures on Saturday in the 50s and on Sunday close to 60. Downtown Traverse City should warm up with a southerly wind.
On Saturday afternoon a southeast wind blows south. The wind will not be strong and will stay below 16 km / h on Saturday.
Sunday is just a touch windier with winds of up to 21 km / h.
Enjoy a great weather weekend. Let’s hope more of this will come, but with some useful rain during the week!
