United Means, Washtenaw County, hosts the annual Stuff the Bus event in August

WASHTENAW COUNTY, me. – Help fill buses with school supplies for Washtenaw County’s children.

United Way and Washtenaw Counties will gather in the county’s public school district from August 2-6 to collect school supplies for local children.

Community members are encouraged to donate “Stuff the Bus” as part of a “joint” campaign during the event, according to a press release.

Two large buses will be parked in front of two destination locations in Washtenaw County starting at 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday to Friday waiting to be filled with backpacks, crayons, pencils, folders and more

A bus will be at the destination location at 2000 Waters Rd in Ann Arbor near Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. The other will be at 3749 Carpenter Rd. Destination in Ypsilanti.

“Here in Washtenaw County there are so many children who start the school year without the school supplies. Washtenaw County employees, in partnership with United Way, are hosting the 14th Annual Stuff the Bus event to help these students have the tools they need to be successful by collecting donated school supplies from staff and the public . This year I am proud to announce that we will have two drop off points, one in Ypsilanti and one in Ann Arbor. Every year the employees and citizens of this county donate generously to this cause, and this year again I want to encourage all of you to come out and donate to a worthy event that will benefit children here in the community and affect their future on a grand scale. “
