Pit Spitters lose first game after break | Sports

TRAVERSE CITY – A few days off for the Northwoods League All-Star Game Celebration may have added a little rust to the Traverse City Pit Spitters.

The Pit Spitters left their first game after the break 5-2 against Kokomo at home on Thursday evening.

Wyatt Rush (4-2) lost his second straight decision after starting the season 4-0 off the hill. Rush threw five innings to start, allowing four hits and four runs while walking three and taking one off.

Traverse City only managed three hits that night. Miles Simington, Christian Faust and Miguel Useche-Canelo each had a single off the plate.

The Spitters will continue their streak with Kokomo at 7:05 p.m. on Friday at Turtle Creek Stadium.
