The Radisson Hotel in Lansing is getting a new name and will be redesigned by 2023

LANSING, Michigan – The 256-room Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing has got a new owner and will soon be getting a new name and face.

The new owners are a private investment firm called Waramaug Hospitality.

A company employee says the hotel’s location and reputation in the community made it an attractive asset.

“We saw many opportunities here in this hotel, which has been wonderfully run by the previous owner under the Radisson brand since 1986. We saw an opportunity to come to Lansing and improve the hotel significantly. We’re going to change the brand to Doubletree by Hilton in a few years, “said Craig Nussbaum, Senior Vice President at Waramaug.

The company estimates $ 10 million for renovations.

“All of the rooms are being pulled out and everything in them is being replaced, so brand new guest rooms. The bathrooms are already ready. They were completed in 2021. So all the new rooms, bathrooms, meeting rooms and the lobby, ”said Nussbaum.

Officials from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce say the hotel’s sales are good for the area.

“I think it will be another very important asset to our downtown area than our hotels. We are just looking forward to this happening, “said Steve Japinga, vice president of public affairs for the chamber.

While the interior of the hotel changes, the staff will stay the same, Nussbaum said.

According to Nussbaum, the project will begin next year and the hotel will open under the brand name Doubletree by Hilton by 2023.
