The Lansing County Day Report Center will hand out free hot chocolate

BECKLEY W. VA. (WVVA) – Lansing County Daily Reporting Center staff members do their part to support the community.

The team set up a free hot chocolate booth on Monday afternoon, helping the privileged populations in the community stay warm on a cold day.

Charles Briscoe, the community service coordinator at the Day Report Center, said it was important to attend as the only thermal shelter in Lansing County is closed.

He also encourages other members of the community to help this population.

“Anyone can help with donations of clothing or warm items, something like that,” said Briscoe. “I mean, even if you set up a simple booth for hot chocolate or hot coffee, anything you can do to help would be great.”

There is currently no word about when the thermal protection will open again.
