The 21st annual Lansing Turkey Trot is returning downtown in person

LANSING, Mich (WNS) After the 21st Lansing Turkey Trot was virtual last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s finally personal again and will begin near downtown Lansing on Thanksgiving Day.

The event welcomes four thousand participants with people of all ages for 2021. The start and finish line is located at Lansing Community College and begins on Thursday, November 25th, between 9:00 am and 9:15 am.

The event will block the streets of downtown Lansing:

The race for a competition time is optional and medals will be awarded to the top three participants of all ages. The trot is created by the Michigan Running Foundation and Playmakers.

“The proceeds go back to running. We love supporting high school and middle school cross-country teams, we support many track and field clubs, we buy uniforms and equipment for track and field clubs to send their children to national championships, ”said Chuck Block, director of the Michigan Running Foundation.

Pre-registration for the race is required and registration on the same day is not possible. The race is due to end before noon and hopes to raise more money for Michigan’s youth. Stay active on the run.
