Temperatures rise into 40s; chance of rain this week

DETROIT – Welcome to Monday, Motown.

Monday looked spectacular and felt cold. Temperatures stayed mostly in the low and mid 30s during the afternoons under clear blue skies. Make sure you pack yourself up before going outside and wrap the kids in their winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves before going to and from business or after school.

Monday evening will be clear and cold. Temperatures are in the lower 30 during dinner and the upper 20 shortly after dark.

Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter will be visible in the southern and southwestern skies before 7:30 p.m.

The Monday night will be clear and very cold. Overnight lows will be in the upper teenagers and lower 20s. Make sure the stove is in good condition and grab an extra blanket. Bring your pets back inside too.

In this week

Tuesday will be sunny and cool. Highs will be near 40.

Wednesday there will be higher temperatures with cloudy skies. As the clouds increase, afternoon temperatures can hit the low 40s to nearly 45 degrees.

Happy Thanksgiving Thursday! The start of the Thanksgiving Parade in America is cloudy and light rain is coming. It’s getting chilly, with temperatures above freezing. Balloonists only struggle with gentle winds, and temperatures start in the mid and upper 30s.

A few rain showers are possible in the first half of the parade. There is a lull in shower activity in the late morning and noon. When the Detroit Lions step onto the soccer field, afternoon temperatures will be in the mid-1940s with the occasional rain shower.

During the trading day on Friday the sky is partly sunny to mostly cloudy, with snow showers reinforced by lakes. Early buyers have morning temperatures in their 20s and daytime temperatures hit their mid 30s.
