Tampa ‘sufferer’ of Tom Brady’s home mistake was nonetheless cheering him on
An unusual encounter with Tom Brady
Josh Cascio reports
TAMPA, Fla. – – It’s not every day that someone breaks into your home. It’s even stranger when that intruder is NFL legend and future Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
“I see the doorknob turning, I just froze. I said, ‘Oh my god’, someone is coming into my house,” recalled David Kramer. “He doesn’t even say ‘hello’ and just looks up at me and says, ‘What’s up, man?'”
This was in April when Brady had just arrived in town before the season started. The Buccaneers’ new quarterback believed he was walking into offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich’s house, which was actually next door.
“He says, ‘I’m so sorry sir, I’m sorry.’ And it went like lightning, “continued Kramer.
And that’s exactly how David Kramer’s unlikely minute and a half encounter with Brady was over. Still, it’s a story he likes to tell.
“A million times. To the point that it actually hurts sometimes, but it’s a lifelong memory I will always have,” he said. “Seeing him go to the Super Bowl is phenomenal. It’s the biggest weekend in Tampa. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Gronk’s mother has advice for the son ahead of the Super Bowl
Rob Gronkowski’s mother, who lives in Estero, is his biggest fan and knows him better than anyone.
And who would have thought that Tom Brady’s path to his 10th Super Bowl would lead right through David Kramer’s front door.
“I wasn’t scared because he was so handsome,” joked Kramer. “Thank god I didn’t shoot him.”
