Sub-freezing conditions return Sunday night time, milder Monday
DETROIT – Welcome to Sunday night, Motown.
Palm Sunday ends with decreasing rain and falling temperatures. The sky clears at dawn, paving the way for abundant sunshine tomorrow and Tuesday. This will allow for milder and warmer weather earlier this week. Colder air returns for the Detroit Tigers opening day.
Sunday night will be cold with clear skies. The overnight lows will be in the mid and upper 20s. It stays windy with winds blowing 10 to 20 miles per hour adding wind chill to teenagers in the early Monday hours
Monday will be sunnier and milder with lighter winds. Afternoon temperatures hit the upper 50’s.
Tuesday is the warmest day of the week and we can grab our sunglasses again. Daytime temperatures hit the upper 60s to near 70 ° F.
A cold front with more showers returns on Wednesday. It’ll be cooler temperatures that barely make it to 50 ° F.
Sunshine returns to the Detroit Tigers home game on Thursday. Our hometown baseball team will host Cleveland at 1:10 pm with the first field in Comerica Park. It will be mostly sunny but cool. Anyone allowed to be near or in the stadium, or wanting to get vaccinated at Ford Field, needs their coats, hats, scarves, and gloves with temperatures in their upper 30s and low 40s for most of the day.
Good Friday is also getting sunnier. It won’t be that cold with highs in the low 50’s.
Saturday is mostly sunny and milder. Highs will be in the low 60s.
Easter Sunday will be bright and mild. High in the mid 60s.
