Look for Lansing Schools Superintendent up to two finalists

LANSING, me. (WILX) – The search for the next head of the Lansing School District is progressing less than expected with one candidate.

The district’s assistant superintendent, Delsa Chapman, withdrew from the process.

The last two candidates, Jessica Benavides and Benjamin Shuldiner, sat in the hot seat overnight for their final round of interviews. The district is expected to make a final decision during a special meeting on Saturday.

Who are the last two candidates?
  • Benavides is currently the Executive Director of Improvement and Innovation for the Lansing School District.
  • Shuldiner is Dean’s Fellow at Hunter College in New York and a former headmaster of New York High School for Public Service.

If you missed the last round of interviews last night, you can check it out on the WILX Facebook page.
