Kyle Dake from Lansing wins his third world wrestling championship
OSLO, Norway (WETM) – Lansing’s Kyle Dake and Cornell wrestling icon won his third wrestling championship on Sunday.
Dake rolled through the 74kg class with three wins including an 11-0 tech case, a 5-0 win, and a 9-1 win to make the championship game. In the last game, Dake defeated Tajmuraz Salkazanov from Slovakia 7-3. The victory brought the Cornell alumni his first world championship in Olympic weight in 2013.
Dake won the Senior World Championship and an Olympic bronze medal in Tokyo at the 2020 Games in 2018 and 2019.
