Grand Rapids Civic Theatre 2022-23 season features new and ‘well-known and loved’ shows
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The 2022-23 Grand Rapids Civic Theater season features seven productions, including four musicals, two plays, and one special event.
For its 97th season, officials say they will be featuring shows “already well-known and loved” as well as those that have never been performed on the Meijer Majestic Stage.
The Civic Theater will present School of Rock, The Revolutionists, Mary Poppins, Once On This Island, Puffs, Ten For Ali (Civic Theatre’s ten-minute playwriting festival) and Something Rotten.
“After two exceedingly difficult years at Civic Theatre, we are thrilled to be back to regular programming for another year,” said Executive Director Bruce Tinker in a Feb. 16 press release. “As we continue to move forward, we want to thank our patrons and volunteers for their unwavering support.”
Early Access Passes are on sale now for the season, the release said, and Early Passholders will have the opportunity to reserve their seats immediately. Single tickets go on sale June 23.
“There is truly something for every theater fan this season,” Artistic Director Allyson Paris said in a prepared statement. “At the heart of our organization, we are storytellers. This season gives us the opportunity to tell stories for and about so many distinct groups of people in our community.”
