Urban solar microgrids could supply Ann Arbor’s households and businesses with electricity

ANN ARBOR, MI – Ann Arbor is exploring the idea of creating city-owned solar microgrids to power neighborhoods and meet the community’s carbon neutral goals by 2030.
Missy Stults, the city’s sustainability manager, explained the concept to the city council last week and drew a picture of a public utility that enables grid connections between neighboring houses and companies that use renewable energy.
