72-year-old Sue Ann Kabot of Traverse City died on Thursday April 1, 2021 at Munson Medical Center in the arms of her Savior.
Sue was born on April 11, 1948 in Charlevoix as the daughter of Darwin and Wilma (Veenstra) Penfold. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and met her husband Ronald in Traverse City. They were married on November 26, 1971 in Atwood.
Sue was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Traverse City and taught the two-year Sunday School class for 25 years. She loved baking and spending time playing cards with the family. She was particularly known for her wonderful carrot cake.
Sue is survived by her 49-year-old husband Ronald. Children, Ted (Chandra) Kabot, Jason (Amy) Kabot; as well as grandchildren, Madison, Clarissa, Evan, Hunter, Corey, and Eric; Five brothers are also surviving; and four sisters. She was preceded in death by both parents.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10 a.m. until their service at 1 p.m. in the Beacon Cremation and Funeral Service in the Covell-Traverse City Chapel. The ashes are buried immediately after the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
