‘Rock Your Curves’ event to host all-body lingerie fashion show in downtown Grand Rapids

There will be drag performances, pole dance performances, burlesque dances and more.

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – A new Pride event focused on body positivity is coming to downtown Grand Rapids.

Naughty Bettie is an all-inclusive underwear and photography studio on Curve Street. To empower people of all shapes and sizes, they created an event called “Rock Your Curves”.

Working with the community and local vendors, the event is blocking part of Curve Street for a special event on Saturday, June 26th from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

There will be drag performances, pole dance performances, burlesque dances and more.

“We’ll be hosting our fashion show that will feature models of all genders, ages, sexualities, abilities and races,” said Nicholette Drigss, Store Manager at Naughty Bettie.

“So it’s really just about showing off a range of different bodies in lingerie,” she added.

Scarlett Rose will perform in drag at the event. She said she was excited to be part of such an event.

“We welcome everyone, every body type, gender, color just to come in and feel welcome and feel safe,” Scarlett said.

Nicholette Driggs said she suggests 16 and older as the appropriate age to attend, but adds that it is at the discretion of parents.

“We believe that all people, regardless of your height, body type, age or gender, or gender expression, all deserve to feel beautiful,” said Driggs.
