New Title, Affiliation, Coming For Grand Rapids Drive

After losing its affiliation with the Detroit Pistons in 2020, Grand Rapids Drive will be known by a new name when it takes the floor at the Deltaplex this fall.

We had few dance partners out there and Denver really showed the greatest initiative to get together and see if, despite the distance, there was a way to find out that partnership. You really were the only ones I spoke to. We kind of figured it out from there.

Former Piston Ben Wallace is expected to remain with Grand Rapids as a board member / owner, entering the 2021-2022 season.

The Pistons recently bought the Phoenix Suns G League team and renamed it Motor City Cruise. They’ll have the team play in Detroit at Wayne State University.
