Mary Frances Bremer, 91, of Traverse City, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Jamison was born on August 7, 1930 in Bradford, Tennessee, to the late Johnie and Zelma (Nolen) Jamison. She married the love of her life and high school lover Jack Bremer on November 3, 1947 in Flint. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2020.
Mary and Jack moved to Traverse City in 1984 after their retirement. She was a loyal member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Mary had a gift of baking. Their pies and cookies, especially their Christmas cookies, were loved by everyone. She enjoys sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling and spending the winter in Gulf Shores, Ala. Mary was an avid reader, the queen of crossword puzzles, and loved to play cards and games. She also loved square dancing and round dancing with Jack. Most of all, spending time with her family and being grandma and great-grandma was her greatest joy.
Mary leaves behind two sons and a daughter, Richard (Paulette) Bremer, David (Marcia) Bremer and Kathy (Edward) Tokarek. In addition, seven grandchildren survive; Kevin (Kendra) Bremer, Tim (Sommer) Bremer, Rachel (Bryan) Harris, Kelli DeGood, Michael (Alison) Bremer, Colin Tokarek and Nathan Tokarek; as well as 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon (Jim) Hobson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by four siblings in death.
On Thursday, September 30, 2021, a memorial service in honor of Mary will be held at 12:00 p.m. with a visit from 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple St, Traverse City. Rev. Michael Goers will take over the office.
