Man waits for woman to walk out of Detroit gas station, robs her next to car at gunpoint

DETROIT – Cameras captured video of a man waiting for a woman to come out of a Detroit gas station so he can follow her to her car and rob her at gunpoint.

The armed robbery occurred around 3:30 a.m. on September 13 at Block 18600 on Plymouth Street in the west of the city, Detroit police said.

A man can be seen in front of the gas station door. When the woman goes out and walks towards her car, he follows her and pulls a gun, as a surveillance video shows.

According to the police, the man asked for everything the woman had. He searched their pockets and took money and a cell phone, officials said.

According to authorities, the man fled in an unknown direction. He was last seen wearing a dark zip-up jacket with a hood, dark jeans, and sandals.

Detroit Police are asking the local population to help identify and locate the man. Anyone with information is asked to call Sixth Ward at 313-596-5640 or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP to remain anonymous.
