Lansing man in custody after jumping on cars on I-96

HIDALGO, Texas (border report) – A thick fog early Thursday morning caused many migrants to take cover while running and tried to evade border guards in south Texas. One woman told Border Report after she was caught that she didn’t want to go back to Mexico, where there is so much crime.

Sonia Martinez, 43, from Honduras, sat crying on the floor in muddy and wet jeans, surrounded by border guards removed from a legal port of entry. “We have nothing,” she said, so she ran to the South Texas border and crossed the Rio Grande after a month and a half of travel from her Central American country to get here.
