Lansing man charged with fatal shooting of 16-year-old boy

LANSING, Michigan – An 18-year-old man from Lansing was charged with a fatal shootout on March 31.

Deshown Ernesto Clark Jr. was charged with open murder and capital crimes last month. Lansing Police announced his arrest today.

Polie said he responded to a shootout near Burneway and Seaway Drives on the evening of March 31st, and found a 16-year-old Darrell Smith, a junior at Sexton High School, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
