Halloween 2021: Trunk-or-treats, costume parades and tick-or-treat times in Washtenaw County

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – Put on your witch hat and find your scariest mask because Halloween (and trick or treating) is just around the corner. Check out this list of the scariest events near you.


Though Ann Arbor hasn’t yet confirmed the trick or treating times in town, little ghouls have gone door-to-door on Halloween night from 5pm to 8pm for the past few years.

Downtown Trick or Treat takes place on October 31st from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a costume parade starting at 11 a.m. Participants who want to show off their costumes will meet at 11 a.m. on Main Street and William Street

The Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road in Ann Arbor, is holding a Muttster Mash Bash on October 23, featuring kid-friendly games, trick-or-treating, and meet-and-greets with adoptable animals. The cost is $ 10 per child, while adults are free. The event lasts from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ticket holders have fixed time slots.

While the Humane Society specializes in black cats, the Domino’s Farm petting zoo event attendees will be surrounded by a variety of animals: monsters. The Halloween Trail: Monster Petting Farm takes place October 22-23 and October 29-30 at 3001 Earhart Road in Ann Arbor. The petting zoo features werewolves and zombies played by actors from the Ann Arbor Civic Theater. Tickets are available online.

The Ring of Steel Action Theater on 3097 Varsity Drive in Ann Arbor is hosting a Haunted Drive Thru Trick or Treat on October 30th from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are free, but advance notice is required.

Dixboro United Methodist Church at 5221 Church Street in Ann Arbor plans to hold a Trunk-or-Treat and Fall Festival on October 22nd. The festival starts at 4:30 p.m. and trunk-or-treat starts at 5:30 p.m. Costumes are welcome.

Little monsters can also partake in trick or treating at Briarwood Mall on October 28 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children can try trick or treating at participating retailers throughout the store. Expect an appearance by Ann Arbor’s Violin Monster, as well as an appearance by the University of Michigan Groove, a magic show, and other family-friendly events from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm


Chelsea has announced that trick-or-treat times in town will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on October 31st

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, 13800 Luick Drive, Chelsea, is hosting a regular or treat event on October 29th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Robin Hills Farm, 20390 M-52 in Chelsea, is doing Trick or Treat along the way and a hay ride at 8:00 p.m. October 29, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A trunk-or-treat event will also be hosted by St. Mary’s Catholic Church on 14200 East Old US Highway on October 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

On October 30th, there will be trunk-or-treat events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lambs of Our Savior / Savior Lutheran Church on 1515 South Main Street and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Chelsea Custom Shirts on 901 South Main Street.

On October 31, there will be a Kiwanis Community Halloween Party from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Palmer Commons at 304 South Main Street and a trunk-or-treat event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cole Funeral Chapel at 214 East Middle Street.


Trick-or-treaters in Dexter can take part on October 31st from 5pm to 7pm. The city urges all attendees to follow the COVID-19 protocol established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Dexter Chamber of Commerce is also hosting a downtown trick-or-treating event at Monument Park on October 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.


Manchester Township announced that its trick-or-treat times on October 31st will be 6pm to 8pm for East Manchester Township, Manchester Borough and Mount Wolf Borough.

The community demanded that houses that want to distribute sweets turn on an outside light.


Milan will have its trick or treating downtown on October 29 from 5pm to 6pm, followed by a Halloween dance party from 6pm to 7.30pm hosted by Aid in Milan, Inc.

Saline solution

Saline will host a trunk-or-treat in the city center on October 27th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be a DJ and a magician at the event at Key Bank Lot, 100 West Michigan Avenue, and along McKay Street.


Whitmore Lake High School at 7430 Whitmore Lake Road in Whitmore Lake will be hosting their Trunk-or-Treat and Haunted Hustle 5K on October 24th from 3pm to 5pm


Ypsilanti did not publish any updated trick-or-treat hours, but the 2020 opening hours were 5pm to 8pm on October 31st.

The Ypsilanti Township Recreation Department is organizing a Trunk-or-Treat on October 30th from 1pm to 3pm in the Ypsilanti Township Community Center, 2025 East Clark Road in Ypsilanti. No registration is required.

The Gene Butman Ford dealership is also hosting a trunk-or-treat. The Butman Trunk-or-Treat will take place on October 16 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 2105 Washtenaw Avenue in Ypsilanti. It will not be charged.
