Football predictions for the Ann Arbor area for week 7
ANN ARBOR – Another important week awaits the Ann Arbor area high school football teams starting in Week 7.
With that, MLive sports reporter Greg Wickliffe has once again made his selection for regional teams that he believes will be victorious on Friday.
Last week, Wickliffe correctly selected the winner in five of the seven games and successfully predicted 39 of 51 games this year. Check out his week 7 predictions below.
FRIDAY, OCT. 8th
Ann Arbor father Gabriel Richard (2-4) in Madison Heights Bishop Foley (5-1)
It is now or never for FGR to make a push into the postseason and cannot afford another loss. But Bishop Foley is a tough match for the Fighting Irish, which will make it difficult for them to win.
Prediction: Bishop Foley 24, FGR 21
Ann Arbor Huron (5-1) at Ann Arbor Skyline (0-6)
Huron has too much talent for the Eagles and should have no problem getting past this game and winning the battle between the three Ann Arbor schools.
Predictions: Huron 38, Skyline 14
Chelsea (6-0) at Tecumseh (3-3)
Tecumseh is a solid team, but they just don’t have the talent to keep up with the Bulldogs who are well on their way to finishing the regular season unbeaten for the third year in a row.
Prediction: Chelsea 32, Tecumseh 13
Ecorse (4-2) on Whitmore Lake (5-1)
Whitmore Lake got off to a strong start this fall and his hasty attack is the advantage in a clash of quality teams.
Forecast: Whitmore Lake 30, Ecorse 26
Monroe (3-3) at Dexter (4-2)
Dexter will be looking to get back on the winning path after last week’s loss to Huron and the powerful Dreadnaughts should be able to get past Monroe.
Prediction: Dexter 35, Monroe 28
Monroe Jefferson (2-4) near Milan (4-2)
Milan have lost two of their last three games and need a comeback win. Jefferson has worked hard to stop offense and the Big Reds have playmakers everywhere who are going to give Jefferson trouble.
Prediction: Milan 31, Jefferson 16
Saline Solution (6-0) at Temperance Bedford (5-1)
The Hornets have gone through most of their schedule but are being tested against Bedford who also plays Saline hard. Even so, Saline has enough playmakers on either side of the ball to remain undefeated and take a good away win.
Prediction: Saline 34, Bedford 21
Ypsilanti (0-6) at Pinckney (4-2)
Ypsilanti’s defense has struggled at a historic level and those issues will continue against a Pinckney squad who have scored 48 points or more three times this season.
Prediction: Pinckney 42, Ypsilanti 12
Ypsilanti Lincoln (2-4) at Ann Arbor Pioneer (1-5)
Lincoln has had a 4-game losing streak and has an explosive offense that should give the Pioneers seizures. Lincoln has never beaten Pioneer, but that should change this week.
Prediction: Lincoln 31, Pioneer 20
