Detroit Warns Residents Of Housing Scam Offering Free Homes – CBS Detroit

(CBS DETROIT) – The city of Detroit warns residents of a housing fraud offering so-called free housing in the city.

Officials say a man named Ramzu Yunus was behind the false advertisement.

Yunus has people sign a fake deed stating that they now own a house in Detroit.

Authorities say the document is illegitimate and people cannot live in vacant houses that do not belong to them.

The police also warn that Yunus could be dangerous; Only a few weeks ago he was embroiled in an armed stalemate.
