Country superstar Blake Shelton celebrates local “heroes” in Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids, MI (September 20) – Inspired by the name and mission of his tour, award-winning entertainer Blake Shelton aims to identify a special community member at every stop of the Friends and Heroes 2021 run. As he prepares to take the Van Andel Arena stage on September 30, 2021, Shelton celebrates local “heroes” Cari Steensma and Kameron Gaffney. The married couple Cari & Kameron both serve in the US Army National Guard’s military police and are expected to be on duty for one year the day after the concert (October 1, 2021).

With the help of Van Andel Arena, Shelton was able to identify Cari & Kameron based on a friend’s nomination and a local community member. Cari’s family will also be on the show to celebrate the couple’s heroism on their final night on the town. Cari & Kameron will receive a prize package with tickets to the front row of Blake Shelton’s Friends and Heroes 2021 tour date at the Van Andel Arena on September 30th, 2021.

Cross-country skiing will have a very special guest, Lindsay Ell, with special appearances from Martina McBride, Tracy Byrd and John Anderson.
