CAR plans in-person Traverse City event in August | Automotive Industry News

The Michigan-based Center for Automotive Research (CAR) has announced that its annual CAR Management Briefing Seminars (MBS) will be held again at the Grand Traverse Resort on August 4th for one of the first in-person automotive events of the year. 5.

The good news, however, comes amid concerns over the rising cases of Covid in the state of Michigan, which have led the state to extend emergency rules through October. Ford is among the companies that have announced they will continue to ask Michigan-based employees to continue working at home until then and are hoping for a general return to their offices this summer.

“Local guidelines continue to provide information on our return to work protocols. Given the Michigan state announcement, we will postpone the gradual campus return we planned with our hybrid work model for non-local workers from July to October,” Ford said in an explanation.

The annual event at the Grand Traverse Resort also serves as an informal meeting place and social event for executives in the North American automotive industry and is featured regularly on many calendars.

CAR stressed that it takes the safety of COVID-19 seriously and will take every precaution to ensure that we can meet safely. The Grand Traverse Resort follows strict social distancing and hygiene measures to ensure that MBS 2021 is safe and successful.
