Among the survivors of Dr. Anderson belonged to the University of Michigan basketball players
ANN ARBOR, me. – Local 4 learns about the 800+ former University of Michigan athletes Dr. Accusing Robert Anderson of sexual abuse during exams.
“My clients are mostly basketball players and some of them are very recognizable,” said attorney Ven Johnson.

Dave Strack coached the Wolverines from 1960 to 1968. Johnson said Strack was told about the abuse.
“From the statements of my customers, how it will be in court, he did nothing,” he said about whether Strack reported the abuse to sports director Don Canham.
Regarding Strack’s response, Johnson said, “Pretty much like Bo, they laughed about it.”
Bo Schembechler has been at the center of the scandal lately with his family and some former players coming to his defense while others said he knew and did nothing.

But that shouldn’t be the focus, according to Johnson.
“That’s something bigger than Bo, that’s something bigger than U of M. These are people. They are survivors. These are not people who make up stories. These are not people who want to get rich with a small lawsuit. They are real people, ”he said.
Johnson said the university so far only apologizes for what Anderson has done is not enough.
“He was just an amazing predator, and that can only happen if there is this ongoing – what I’ll call – ‘cover up’ from the inside,” he said.
