TC West outperforms Alpena

TRAVERSE CITY – Traverse City West received the highest award in doubles with Alpena on Wednesday. The titans outperformed Alpena for boys with 132.99 to 17 and for girls with 107.99 to 33.

Rogers City takes 2 of poses

POSEN – Rogers City beat Poznan 10-4 and 11-4 in a showdown in Presque Isle County on Wednesday.

After three innings in the opener, Rogers City scored two hits in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth to create some distance between him and the Vikings.

Lizzy Romel, Makayla Kamyszek, Ava Wesner and Faith Cousins ​​each had two hits for Posen and Abi Schellie had two RBI.

Alyssa Hein and Mackenzie Bruning each had two hits for Rogers City; Taylor Krentz had three RBIs and Bruning and Kaitlin Nowicki each had two.

Bruning took the win and allowed four deserved runs with nine hits and seven strikeouts.

Rogers City scored nine runs in the first three innings to take control of the second game early. Poznan scored three in the fourth inning to make it 9-3 but couldn’t get any closer.

Romel and Wesner each had two hits for Posen and Kamyszek and Romel each had an RBI. Romel took the loss to Poznan, allowing 11 runs (seven earned) on nine hits with seven walks and two spikes.

Jeffra Dittmar had three hits for the Hurons and Bruning and Nowicki had two hits each; Bruning also had three RBI and shared pitching duties with Krentz.

Rogers City welcomes Pickford on Friday and Poznan Atlanta on Thursday.

BASEBALL

Atlanta runs Wolverine

WOLVERINE – Colton Reeves threw a no-hitter and the Huskies defeated Wolverine 22-0 and 20-3 in a double header on Wednesday.

Reeves’ no-no kicked off when he hit seven of the eleven batters he faced. He also added three hits on the plate, Trenton Whitt had three hits and Jace Cheedie had two hits.

In the nightcap, TJ Currie won with two hits and four hits.

Whitt led Atlanta with two hits.
